To
Contributors of Bardsong, the Journal for Celebrating the Celtic Spirit: It
is with great regret that we must announce the suspension of operations of the
publication, Bardsong, the Journal for Celebrating the Celtic Spirit with
the Midwinter 2005 issue. This
was a very difficult decision to make as the journal had been a long-time dream
come true both for myself and for Kathleen, my assistant editor. However, after
two years, Kathleen has made the understandable decision to leave her position
as assistant editor due to overwhelming obligations. Along with having to assist
in the daily operations of a family business, she is sole caretaker for a very
elderly parent, and to be able to continue to pursue her writing career as well,
she has to give up her editorship. To operate the publication alone is not
within my capabilities at this time, therefore, the decision was made to
suspend. We will reassess the situation in a year’s time and consider if we
will start up again or permanently cease operations. The
publishing company of Bardsong Press will continue; it is only the journal that
will be halted at this time. All issues of the journal will continue to be
available for purchase through the website (bardsongpress.com) and other
products sold by Bardsong Press will be available either through the website or
on amazon.com. If you have an active subscription, we will refund the unused portion of it by the end of the month. Please
know that we greatly appreciate your support during our two short years of
operation and we are heartbroken that we can no longer make it work at this
time. Best
regards,
